Recruitment

We celebrate diversity in all its dimensions; not only with respect to legally protected characteristics, but also through the individuality of thought, life experiences, and work styles provided by our employee. We know that Pearson is at its best when each person in the organization feels welcomed, respected, supported and valued as a team member, and we continually strive to create an inclusive environment.

We always seek the best candidates for a role without regard for race, gender, age, physical ability, religion or sexual orientation. We do not set specific numerical targets for recruitment or promotion of particular groups, but work to ensure that our pool of candidates is diverse. We run a number of initiatives to ensure we attract and retain talented individuals from the broadest demographic.

In the UK, our award winning internship programme, the Pearson Diversity Summer Internship Programme (run under the Equality Act) addresses the traditional under-representation of ethnic minorities within our company and industry. Since 2004, we have been offering paid, short term internships to graduates from visible ethnic minority backgrounds. Our innovative programme has been ranked amongst the best internships in the industry by the Guardian newspaper and The Bookseller magazine. In 2011, the programme won the Race for Opportunity Chairman’s Award for innovation in recruitment. Visit: http://summerinternships.pearson.com for more information.
