Welcome back. Here's the next question it says in an aqueous environment, where are the hydrophobic R groups located in a Myoglobin molecule? Well, let's recall from our content video that Maya globin has a compact, highly folded structure. And in an aqueous environment, the hydrophobic R groups are going to want to be away from that aqueous environment. So the hydrophobic R groups are in the core of the myoglobin molecule which we see here as choice B to be sheltered from as far away as possible from that aqueous environment. But let's just look through our other answer. Choices. Choice A says at the peripheral region of the myoglobin molecule, like the peripheral region will have the um polar amino acids in the myoglobin molecule. They'll be arranged on the outside to help it uh dissolve or to help it be in that environment. While the hydrophobic R groups are tucked into the core of this very highly folded protein. So the hydrophobic groups will not be at the peripheral region. So choice A is not our answer. Choice C throughout the myoglobin molecule. Uh That's not a correct answer. Again, the protein will be folded. It's very compact with the hydrophobic groups sheltered in the core, uh not distributed throughout. It'll be displaying the polar R groups on the outside in an aqueous environment. And finally, choice D says none of the above because the myoglobin molecule lacks hydrophobic R groups um that is not correct. So it's not our answer.
