We are being asked for the following problem determine if the cell viability of zinc hydroxide will increase in an acidic solution provide the balanced net ionic equation when zinc hydroxide dissolves in an acidic solution. So the first thing you do is you wanna draw out our zinc hydroxide as a solid double arrow. There to show a dissociating and being irreversible reaction, zinc hydroxide will dissociate to zinc two plus ions as well as two hydroxide ions in an aqueous form as well. So when it dissolves in this acidic solution we are going to form what's known as these hydroxide ions. And these hydroxide ions are going to serve as a base. And so this base is going to react with our protons or our hydro knee um which is our acid. And when this occurs this will shift the reaction to the right, This will shift the reaction to the right. And as a result of this you will have more zinc hydroxide dissolving. Furthermore, we can say that the saw ability zinc hydroxide will increase an acidic solution. And so if we were to write our net ionic equation, our net ionic equation, it would look something like this. We would have our zinc hydroxide in the solid form reacting with our hydro knee um are are protons and the acquis form and then we would have our zinc two plus ions and then our water. And so to balance this, let's first look at how many of each atom that we have on each side. So we see that we have one isn't gonna left and one on the right, so that's already balanced for oxygen.
