Welcome back everyone. We're told that the samples of Clorox acid and formic acid shown below are both titrate ID with 0.75 molar potassium hydroxide. Does clark acid need more potassium hydroxide to reach the equivalence point than formic acid. So what we should recall so far is that formic acid is considered a weak acid. It's not on our list of memorized strong assets. Whereas chlorate acid we want to recall is a strong acid. It is on that list of memorized strong acids. We have the same Initial concentration for both of our assets here, cleric acid and formic acid. Both have an initial concentration of 0.50 Moeller. Now potassium hydroxide we want to recall is one of our memorized strong basis and to reach our equivalence point in a tight tray shin. We need our concentration of asset to equal our concentration of bass and that would be the only point where those concentrations meet now. Just because we have a weak acid being our formic acid and our strong acid being our clerk acid won't change the fact that will need a different amount of potassium hydroxide between these two acids, we're going to be able to use the same concentration of potassium hydroxide to reach the equivalence point for both of these assets and that is due to the fact that our moles of our acid that will be high traded here between clark acid and formic acid will be the same amount. Since again, both of our assets are at the same concentration and same volume. And so our final answer to complete this example is going to be statements see which states that clark acid and formic acid will need the same amount of potassium hydroxide to reach the equivalence point again, mainly because they have the same initial concentration and same volume.
