For two, we have a covalent network solid. In the example being nay for three, we have a metallic solid. In the example being iron. For four, we have ionic solid and the example being cesium bromide. And for five, we have a dipole solid. In the example being ice. For choice A, we have graphite and nale paired for choice B, we have nathene and iron paired. So we can imagine in the following structure for graphite specifically. So this would be a more accurate depiction of our structure of graphite. And we can see that we have again a continuous network of covalent bonds. We would observe that here between all of our carbon atoms at each corner of each rink. So now with our types of solids outlined, looking at our examples. One through five, we can see that in example, one graphite being listed as a molecular solid is going to be incorrect because although molecular solids do consist of covalent bonds, we can distinguish the two because molecular solids will consist of London dispersion, dipole, dipole and hydrogen bonding intermolecular forces where in ice we would have hydrogen bonding. Whereas in graphite, it's the strong covalent bonds that are really keeping the molecule together. And the continuous network of covalent bonds in a covalent network solid has greater strength than any of the intermolecular forces that would hold a molecule together. So graphite should not be listed as a molecular solid because of this continuous network of the covalent bonds between the carbon atoms, it should be listed as again a covalent solid. So any answer choice with choice or with option one, we can rule out. So that means we can rule out choices a as well as e since it incorrectly pairs graphite as a molecular solid. Moving on to example two, we're given co a covalent network solid as napthine. Now in napthine, we do not have a continuous network of covalent bonds. So it's also incorrectly paired as its example.
