So we'll put a coefficient of nine out in front of the water to balance the hydrogens. We now have eight times two of 16 oxygens associated with carbon dioxide and nine associated with water. But we have a total of 25. We'll balance our oxygens by putting a coefficient of 25 halves out in front of the oxygen. So we don't wanna leave the fraction. So multiply through the entire reaction by two, then get two moles of octane reacting with 25 moles oxygen to give us 16 moles of carbon dioxide and 18 moles of water.
