Alright. Hi everyone. So for this question we have to provide the final product of the reaction in which the following compound is treated with sodium bora hydride or N A B. H four in methanol. So let's get started by first drawing out our starting material. We have a final group, a carbon in between and a carb oxalic acid group. So let's draw what that would look like. And we're starting off with our fennel group are benzene ring, this is our benzene ring. We have a carbon in between a CH two followed by our carb oxalic acid. So this is our starting material and we are reacting this with sodium Borough hydride in methanol. So ch 30. H. Now recall for a second that sodium Borough hydride is a reducing agent that is selective However for all the hides and ketones and notice how we have a crab oxalic acid in our starting material. So the reality is that sodium moral hydrate is not really going to react with this carb oxalic acid because it prefers um al the highs and ketones.
