Hey everyone. Let's do this problem and says provide the final products expected from the deals alder reaction given below. So let's review what is happening in a deal's alder reaction. Well we have a four plus two cyclo addition Reaction and that is producing a six member ring as our product. So for example We have a dying and that is our dying. But we're reacting with the two pi electrons from this bond here, the either the double bond or the triple bond. And we react that with heat to form our six member ring product. So notice how we are changing these two double bonds into sigma bonds. And we're breaking our double bond in our diana file. And we showed this reaction with three arrows. So we have one coming from our diana file to our dying. This double bond shifting over in this double bond, going back a third arrow from our double bond back to our diana file to form our product. And in a deal all the reaction, it is stereo specific. So there is a syn addition and the configuration of the diana file is retained in the product. So if we have a system to file, it will produce assist product or if we have a trans diana file that will result in a trans product. So let's apply this mechanism to the reaction that we were given for this problem. So we have our dying in our diana file and I'm going to highlight these so that we can make sure we're drawing the right product. So we want to make sure we have our three mechanism arrows.
