There are sixteen units in total over the four series, each comprising a big ideas book and CD, a guided reading book and five topic books. Comprehensive materials are available to enrich your literacy lessons with scene setters, a range of stimulating texts in a range of text types, audio texts, interactive activities, challenges and assessment tasks. Each series is also supported by a teacher's resource book and listening post audio CD and blackline masters.

Three fiction and two nonfiction texts are provided for every unit, which all support and challenge students to formulate big ideas and contemplate issues facing them in their daily lives. Rigby Blueprints encourages even reluctant readers with content covering current issues and Australian topics.
