Last night, at the prestigious IP Top 99 Awards in Zurich, The Official Peter Rabbit? Website peterrabbit.com was awarded one of only four coveted 'LISA' awards for excellence in Interactive Publishing.
At the packed awards ceremony, Daniel Kampa of Diogenes, the German language publisher of The Original Peter Rabbit Books? , and Mark Samson and Marcus Sanderson from K-Web (UK) Ltd, developer of peterrabbit.com, accepted the award on behalf of Frederick Warne. The ceremony was presided over by Andy Maerz, chairman of the jury and Head of New Media at Ringier, chief sponsor of IP TOP 99.
A team of 30 online professionals nominated a shortlist of ten websites from over 600 submitted for this year's IP TOP Awards. Among the shortlist nominees were Guardian Unlimited, the Norwegian online newspaper 'Aftenposten Interactiv', the German financial specialist 'DM Online' and online music magazine 'Sonicnet Switzerland'. After a grueling selection process, four final winners emerged as the best in European online publishing.
Peterrabbit.com was the only children's website to collect an award and was the sole UK winner among a strong European field. The other three 'LISA' winners were 'Zoom', 'SwissGuide' and 'Novo.dk'.
