IOWA CITY, Iowa - Pearson Education announced today that PASeries® Algebra I was selected to receive a 2006 Award of Excellence from "Technology & Learning" magazine. The 24-year-old recognition program honors innovative applications that break new ground in some important way and best-of-breed examples that demonstrate clear superiority over similar products in the market. This year's 55 winners were chosen by more than 35 educator-judges who evaluated the entries. The winning products will be featured in the December 2006 issue of the magazine.

The newest product in the PASeries (Progress Assessment Series®) product line, PASeries Algebra I was developed for students in grades 6-12 and uses The Quantile Framework® for Mathematics to provide regular progress monitoring of student achievement and to forecast growth toward state performance standards or grade-level expectations.
PASeries Algebra I tests are designed for completion in one class period and for delivery either on paper or online with quick electronic reporting of results. PASeries Algebra I assessments are scientifically valid, reliable and research-based formative tests that include six progress-monitoring tests and five diagnostic tests for targeting instruction.
