Penguin India makes a clean sweep at the Vodafone Crossword Awards
Penguin Books India, which last year celebrated 20 years of publishing in India, has just won the Vodafone Crossword Award 2007 in all three categories.
A Girl and a River by Usha K.R. won the award for Best Work in English Fiction.
The Last Mughal: The Fall of a Dynasty, Delhi, 1857, by William Dalrymple won Best Work in English Non-Fiction.
Chowringhee by Sankar (Translated by Arunava Sinha) and Govardhan's Travels: A Novel by Anand (Translated by Gita Krishnankutty), both published by Penguin India, won joint prize for Best Work in Indian Language Fiction Translation.
