FTMarketWatch.com Voted Best Website for Investors

FTMarketWatch.com, the Financial Times website for private investors, has this week been voted the 'Best Website for Investors' in the annual Investor's Week Online Finance Awards.

In a ceremony held in London on Wednesday 26 November, the website won the coveted award ahead of rival news sites, as well as those of the broking and finance industries. This is the second Investors Week award for the website, which was named 'Best Investment News Site' in last year's awards.

James Hanbury, publisher of Investor's Week, said : 'The 'Best Website for Investors Award' is the premier award of the ceremony. FTMarketWatch.com was chosen by the judges for its wide range of news, tools and research. It was perceived to be the strongest site, offering an extremely well-rounded service. Most notably, FTMarketWatch was deemed a crucial port of call for the private investor.'

Peter Bale, editor in chief, FTMarketWatch.com, added : 'This is a fantastic accolade for us and recognises our commitment to giving online investors access to news, commentary, data and tools traditionally reserved for the professional trader.'

FTMarketWatch.com was launched in June 2000 to provide the private investor with real-time market news and analytical tools traditionally reserved for the city professional.
The FT Group owns 100% of the equity in the website, having purchased MarketWatch.com's 50% stake this year. The site will complement and expand the existing markets channel on FT.com.

FT.com (http://www.FT.com) is one of the world's leading business information portals, and the internet partner of the Financial Times. The site reflects the values and authority of the Financial Times newspaper, with the immediacy and interactivity of the internet.
FT.com's 2.4 million unique monthly users generate 43.5 million monthly page views, delivering a premium audience to advertisers. The website combines agenda-setting editorial content with comment and analysis, financial data, discussion groups, and a range of tools to search the web, manage the working day and seek out leisure opportunities.
