Pearson today announces that Hera Siu has been appointed as its new Managing Director for Greater China.
Hera joins Pearson with more than two decades of experience leading technology businesses in China and the United States. For the past four years she has been SVP and the MD for the Greater China region for the enterprise software firm SAP. She more than doubled the China business in less than three years. Prior to SAP, Hera was Corporate Vice President and the General Manager for Nokia Telecommunications in China.
Hera speaks Cantonese, English and Mandarin and gained her undergraduate degree and MBA from the University of Nevada before working for a number of telecoms and technology firms.
President of Pearson’s Growth Markets Tamara Minick Scokalo said:

Greater China is a key part of Pearson’s global education strategy.
Global Education, Pearson’s test preparation business has more than one million enrolments for English language and other courses at over one hundred of its own learning centres, through a network of 400 franchisee centres, and through online distance learning.
Wall Street English, Pearson’s global English language training business for adults, has more than sixty centres in China in cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzen, Tianjin, Qingdao and others, teaching more than sixty thousand learners.
Pearson also has very strong and thriving educational resources businesses catering to school, higher education and English Language Teaching needs.
Overall, Pearson reaches millions of Chinese learners each year through its own centres and in partnership with others.
