Questions adult learners ask us
Honest answers to what adults weigh before they start.

How much time will this actually take each week?
text
That depends on the pathway and how much time you can give it. Most adults make progress in short sessions that fit around work and family, rather than long blocks. Before you commit, we show you what's involved so you can plan realistically. You set the pace, and you can pick up where you left off whenever your schedule allows.
What if I have not studied in years?
text
You're not alone, and you don't need to remember everything from before. Each pathway starts where you are and builds step by step, with practice that shows your progress as you go. We tell you what to expect up front, so nothing comes as a surprise. Many adults find that returning to study around real life is more manageable than they imagined.
Will employers and schools accept the credential?
text
Yes, every pathway leads to a recognized result. High school equivalency through the GED test is accepted for jobs, college, and the military. IT and trade certifications are recognized by employers who hire for those skills. A Pearson Test of English (PTE) score is accepted for study, work, and migration. Recognition can vary by employer, school, and country, so check the specific requirements that apply to you.
How much does it cost, and can I get help paying?
text
Costs vary by pathway, and we show you the price before you commit. Many adults use funding such as employer reimbursement, grants, or veterans benefits, and some pathways are fully employer-paid. Financial aid availability varies. Contact your institution for eligibility details. Our enablement resources point you to the funding routes that may apply to your situation.
Can my employer pay for my high school equivalency?
text
Sometimes, yes. Some employers cover high school equivalency for their teams through GEDWorks™, an employer-sponsored program in which the employer covers the cost of GED test preparation and the tests. If you would like to earn high school equivalency, ask your employer whether they offer GEDWorks. If they do not, you can still prepare for the GED test directly as an individual.
