Starting a Revolution: Creating Change in STEM Education
In this session, we explore ways to create change at the course, departmental, and institutional level. We draw on theories of change and personal experiences, and include a list of resources which can help you move your change project forward.
Dr. Elliot P. Douglas, University of Florida
Many of us want to create change in our courses, our departments, and our institutions, but become frustrated by resistance from others. How do we make change happen? How can we design our approaches to learning so that others will follow? Elliot has experienced these issues at levels ranging from his own course to departmental level change. Drawing on theories of change and the experience of himself and others, he will describe ways that you can start the change process. He will also provide a list of resources, including workshops, which can help you move your change project forward.
