What we believe in
Respect everyone
We believe in creating an inclusive environment where community members can engage in thoughtful academic discussions without fear of abuse. We do not tolerate shaming, bullying or any kind of harassment that undermines our goal of helping everyone learn better.
Authentic users and content
Activities that undermine the authenticity of our users is not allowed. We do not tolerate cheating—not on quizzes, tests, homework, assessments or any other kind of assignment. Copying answers from another source, even if you provide the original link, is not allowed.
No hateful, abusive or inappropriate content
We believe learners of all backgrounds, perspectives, experiences and identities should feel safe to learn within our community. We do not permit content that contains hate speech or involves or promotes hateful or abusive behavior. We do not allow inappropriate usernames, profile photos or other content, like adult or sexual content, content that includes or promotes any profanity, drug or alcohol use, self-harm, violence or harassment of any kind.
Relevant and reliable information you can trust
We believe in creating a trustworthy environment where learners can find reliable information designed to help them learn. We'll remove content or accounts that include irrelevant, unreliable, pedagogically unsound or other misinformation. This includes deceptive practices and scams that take advantage of the Pearson+ community.
And now, the legal stuff
Personal information
We take the safety of our users and the protection of personal data seriously. Posting content that includes personal information is prohibited.
Intellectual property
We respect the intellectual property of others. Our Acceptable Use Policy does not allow posting, sharing or sending any content that violates or infringes other people's copyrights, trademarks and other intellectual property. Before sharing your content, please make sure you have the right to do so.
Learning, not cheating
There is no place for cheating on our platform, or for using Pearson+ in violation of your institution, instructor or other academic rules or policies. Do not post content that contains test, quiz or homework answers. This also means no questions, problems, assessment items, or answers from 3rd party publishers.
Use of Pearson+ for commercial reasons
Pearson+ is a place to learn, not run your side hustle. This means no advertisements, solicitations, spam or other commercial use of the platform will be permitted.
Your questions answered
Posts can be rejected if they include content that’s abusive or hateful per our community guidelines, as well as any plagiarism or spam. If a post doesn’t align with our values of integrity, authenticity, respect and decency, it may be removed.
We’re actively monitoring the community for inappropriate behavior. We do not tolerate any hateful or abusive behavior and will take action if someone is harassing you. You can report harassment from our platform.
Your post will go under review and our moderators will take a look at whether your edits meet our guidelines. If it does, no worries; your post will be updated and kept up. If it doesn’t, then we’ll have to take down your post.
We’re still rolling out this new feature, so not every Pearson eTextbook has this enabled at the moment. We’re working very hard to make this community available to everyone who uses Pearson+, so keep an eye out for this in the future!
