Every clinical question has an answer. Here’s how to find it.
You want every family who comes through your office to leave with a clear plan for what comes next. Pearson Clinical Assessments brings together validated instruments and a connected digital workflow, so you can take a referral question through to an intervention plan a school team, clinician, or family can actually act on.

ADHD rarely arrives alone
Most children referred for ADHD also present with overlapping developmental or behavioral concerns, which means a single-symptom screen won't tell you enough. BASC gathers input from parents, teachers, and clinicians across settings and developmental history, so you're not just ruling ADHD in or out. You're seeing what's actually going on.
Aligned to the criteria everyone answers to
Individualized education program (IEP) teams, insurance reviewers, and school eligibility committees all come back to DSM-5-TR. Every assessment in the portfolio aligns to current diagnostic criteria where it applies. Each is backed by normative data and validation evidence, so the interpretation you write holds up wherever the report lands.
From assessment to a plan they can act on
Assessment is just the starting point. Adaptive behavior, executive function, and sensory data turn a clinical finding into something schools and families can use. Vineland-3 gives you communication, daily living, socialization, and motor skills data in one place. Q-global and Q-interactive handle the administration and reporting, so your time goes to the clinical work, not the paperwork.

Five clinical domains, one trusted publisher. Every instrument is built on peer-reviewed research and current normative data, so you can find the right tool for each person's unique needs.

These tools are organized the way clinicians think about them, not the way a catalog lists them.

ADHD and executive function
ADHD evaluations need input across raters, settings, and symptom areas. BASC-3 and BASC-4 provide behavior data from home and school, while Conners 4 is the leading rating scale for children and adolescents with ADHD. Brown EF/A Scales assesses executive function challenges tied to ADHD. D-REF offers a quick screening option when you're triaging for further evaluation.

Autism spectrum diagnosis and monitoring
Autism evaluations often combine observation, rating scales, and communication assessment. ASRS measures social, communication, and behavioral concerns. CCC-2 helps assess pragmatic language difficulties and supports differential diagnosis.

Adaptive behavior across the lifespan
Adaptive behavior measures what people actually do at home, at school, and in the community. Vineland-3 assesses communication, daily living, socialization, and motor skills. ABAS-3 evaluates adaptive functioning across the lifespan. PEDI-CAT adds insight into functional ability, mobility, and responsibility, including for autistic children.

Sensory processing and communication
Sensory and communication patterns shape how children function in everyday settings. These tools give occupational therapists (OTs), speech-language pathologists (SLPs), and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) a more complete view of a child's needs. Sensory Profile 2 helps assess sensory processing across daily life. The Adolescent/Adult Sensory Profile measures sensory processing patterns and their effects on functional performance. CCC-2 and the broader autism portfolio support communication, behavior, and adaptive evaluation.

Cognitive ability in neuro developmental evaluations
Cognitive data helps anchor a neurodevelopmental profile. DAS-II NU provides an updated measure of cognitive ability that pairs with adaptive behavior and rating-scale data, supporting evaluations where intellectual functioning is a key consideration. For more in-depth cognitive assessment, clinicians can expand into the Cognitive, Ability, and Neuropsychology portfolio.

Q-global® and Q-interactive handle digital administration, scoring, and reporting.
Q-global® and Q-interactive give you flexibility in how you administer, score, and report. They save time without cutting corners on accuracy. The scores you get are the scores the research supports.

Web-based scoring and reporting
Q-global supports administration, scoring, and reporting across the portfolio. Clinicians can send rating scales to parents or teachers, score them automatically once returned, and generate consistent, clinician-ready reports. Select tools also support telepractice, so your team can work the same way whether you're in the room or remote.

What qualifications do I need to purchase these assessments?
text
Pearson uses a qualification system to make sure clinical assessments are used by appropriately trained professionals. Most Neurodevelopment and Behavior instruments require a Level B (master's-level training in psychology, education, counseling, or a closely related field with assessment coursework) or Level C (doctoral-level including supervised assessment training) qualification. You can verify your qualification level when you create or sign in to your Pearson Clinical account, and the qualifications page on each product listing names the level required.
How do these tools help when ADHD and autism present together?
text
Roughly one in three children referred for ADHD presents with at least one co-occurring condition. Use rating scales (Conners 4, BASC-3) alongside adaptive behavior data (Vineland-3 or ABAS-3). The combination gives you converging evidence across raters and settings, which is what you need to differentiate ADHD, autism, and a co-occurring presentation.
Should I use BASC-3 or BASC-4?
text
Both are in active use. BASC-3 remains the current product, with the largest installed clinical base and the broadest evidence record. BASC-4 is the latest edition, with updated norms and a training program led by Dr. Cecil Reynolds. Talk to a specialist to confirm the right edition for your practice and renewal cycle.
Can I administer any of these via telehealth?
text
Yes, with caveats. Many rating scales (BASC-3, Conners 4, Vineland-3 caregiver interview) are designed for remote administration through Q-global. Each product page lists the manual's guidance for telehealth use, including any psychometric considerations.
Are Spanish-language assessments available?
text
Yes. Vineland-3, BASC-3, BASC-4, Sensory Profile 2, and PEDI-CAT are available in Spanish, with additional instruments in development. Spanish administration runs through Q-global with the same workflow as English administration.
Will these fit my applied behavior analysis (ABA) practice?
text
Yes. BCBAs and ABA practice owners use Vineland-3 and ABAS-3 for adaptive behavior baselines and progress monitoring, ASRS for autism rating, and Sensory Profile 2 for sensory profile data. Q-global supports the way most multi-clinician practices already run, and the instruments are widely accepted by insurance and regulatory bodies.
Do you offer training and continuing education (CE)?
text
Yes. Pearson Clinical offers a growing range of CE-accredited training programs across the portfolio, including dedicated learning for BASC and Vineland. Trainings are led by experienced clinicians, assessment authors, and subject matter experts, designed to build confident administration, interpretation, and application in practice. Live, blended, and on-demand learning formats are available to fit your professional development schedule.
