Rachael Roberts introduces High Note

Listen to an interview with Rachael Roberts, the author of High Note levels 4 – 5 who is telling about her writing experience, revealing some challenges and highlighting a few features she likes most about the High Note course.

Rachael Roberts has been in ELT since 1989, working in Portugal, Brazil, Poland and the UK as a teacher, teacher trainer (CELTA and DELTA) and materials writer. She is the author of several courses for Pearson, including New Total English IntermediatePremium B1+Real Life Advanced and most recently– High Note. A firm believer in lifelong learning, Rachael has an MA in ELT from Warwick, and recently completed a Diploma in Coaching at the same institution. She also enjoys language learning (speaking five languages to varying degrees of proficiency), and is very interested in the crossover between Psychology and Education. 

Bob Hastings has over 35 years’ experience in ELT and teacher training in the UK, France and Spain.  A firm believer in the communicative approach to language teaching, Bob, who has an MSc in Applied Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh, has been writing ELT materials since 2001. He is the author of several course books for Pearson including Success and Wider World

Lynda Edwards spent the first part of her working life teaching EFL to international students before going on to becoming involved in teacher training. She has written several course books for students from A2 level through to C1 as well as skills books, resource books, work books, Teacher's books, tests and graded readers.  

Daniel Brayshaw has been involved in language education since 2001 and during that time has taught students of every age and level. He has worked in Europe, Asia and Australia and, as well as teaching, has been an examiner, academic manager, director of studies and teacher trainer. In recent years, Dan has delivered teacher training sessions globally and has written or co-authored several student books and workbooks for adult and upper-secondary students.

Stuart McKinlay is an English graduate of Manchester University and has 15 years’ experience teaching EFL and ESOL in the UK and abroad, most recently at the Lodz Teacher Training College in Poland.  A Pearson author since 2003 – he is the co-author of four levels of Success (Beginner, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and Advanced), two levels of Wider World (Elementary and Pre-Intermediate) and most recently – High Note.
