Identifying and targeting skills gaps in adult learners using courseware & assessment

Presenters: Eleonora Pessina, Imogen Wyllie

In this session we show how Pearson English courses and assessments work together, within the framework of the Global Scale of English, to create a purposeful, well-structured educational experience. Taking Roadmap and the Benchmark Test as examples, we've studied the differences, connection and interplay between course, course-based assessment and proficiency assessment for adult learners. The session aims were to give teachers practical advice on how to structure their end-to-end teaching programme - identifying and addressing skills gaps and monitoring progress throughout.
