If you’re wondering what we’re talking about, esports is simply short for ‘electronic sports’, a term coined to describe competitive video gaming. There’s a common misconception that esports is a ‘playful’ qualification, but this couldn’t be further from the truth, so we’ve teamed up with our partners at the British Esports Association to answer some of the most common myths people believe about esports and education.

The summer months of 2020 so far haven’t brought with them the deep respite from the COVID-19 pandemic many researchers had thought was likely. To help alleviate the strain, Pearson has partnered with Goodwall to launch a mid-year programme for young people.

There is a misconception that studying for British qualifications can only lead on to a British university – but nothing could be further from the truth! These qualifications open many doors to school leavers who want to continue into higher education all over the world. 

Towards the end of 2019, we conducted the Pearson Global Learner Survey. It was the first of its kind; a study that questioned approximately 11,000 learners, in 19 countries. Learners shared their opinions on a wide range of educational topics, such as national education systems, career planning in the age of automation, higher education institutions, technology and globalisation.

The UK left the European Union on 31 January 2020 and is currently working on a Withdrawal Agreement. The transition period for this ends on 31 December 2020.
