EduKan and Pearson Education Create Educational Alliance

Pearson Education and EduKan, the Western Kansas Community College Virtual Education Consortium, announced today that they have entered into a strategic partnership. This new relationship formally establishes Pearson Education as EduKan’s preferred vendor of course content. Pearson Education will also provide Premier Membership Services to EduKan including extensive resources for the faculty members of all six of the community colleges working together to form the consortium.

Some of the services Pearson Education will provide to EduKan and its member schools include streamlined web access to electronic and print content resources, heightened ability to customize and use Pearson's content in courses, and ongoing product and technical support from Pearson Education. Web-based member support will be provided through links to Pearson via the EduKan website (

About EduKan:

EduKan, the Western Kansas Community College Virtual Educational Consortium, is a cooperative effort between member colleges to offer courses via the Internet. Students enrolling in the online program may take course work leading to an associate degree from one of six participating institutions. The six institutions are Barton County Community College, in Great Bend; Colby Community College, in Colby; Dodge City Community College, in Dodge City; Garden City Community College, in Garden City; Pratt Community College, in Pratt; and Seward County Community College, in Liberal. All courses and student services are offered online using the eCollege system. EduKan students are primarily ones who may not be able to take traditional classes due to conflicting schedules, multiple responsibilities and/or long driving distances.
