LONDON, (October 31, 2018) - Pearson, the world’s learning company, today announced the appointment of Deirdre Latour as Chief Corporate Affairs Officer reporting to Chief Executive Officer John Fallon. She will join Pearson on January 1, 2019 and lead the team responsible for the company’s global corporate affairs, including government relations, media & investor relations, employee communications, and brand & social impact.
A highly talented and experienced communicator, Deirdre spent the last fourteen years at General Electric, most recently as chief communications officer and senior advisor to the CEO. “Deirdre’s extensive experience and expertise is matched by her energy, sense of purpose, and commitment to empowering and mentoring talent,” said John Fallon, Pearson CEO. “I’m confident she will help us build on the progress we’ve made in our global corporate affairs and marketing efforts, and skillfully steer our brand as we transform Pearson to meet the changing needs of our customers.”
“I am very excited to join the Pearson team at a time of transformational change in the company and in the world of education,” said Deirdre Latour. “Pearson’s mission of helping people make progress in their lives through learning is a passion of mine and I look forward to working with the global corporate affairs team to tell the Pearson story to people in new and compelling ways.”
