This is one of nine courses that make up the full Professional Certificate in Telehealth and one of two courses that can be stacked toward a digital badge in Artificial Intelligence and Health Informatics in Virtual Care.
As technologies evolve, expand, and move in new directions, they will continue to play a larger role in the field of healthcare. Healthcare professionals will benefit from a basic understanding of AI, the role it plays in healthcare today, its shortcomings, and the role it will play in the future. Continuing education units will be awarded.
Earn 10 continuing education hours
Participants who complete each course and evaluation are awarded 10 contact hours per course by the Northeastern University School of Nursing, accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
MaineHealth’s Office of Continuing Education is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Education (ACCME) and provides credit for the American Medical Association Physician’s Recognition Award. Maine Medical Center has designated these educational activities for up to 10 AMA Category 1 Credit(s). Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Dr. Nicole Davis
PhD, BCBA, LABA, Assistant Clinical Professor, Northeastern University
Dr. Nicole Davis is an Assistant Clinical Professor and the Director of Supervision in the Applied Behavior Analysis Programs at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. She teaches in both the graduate ABA and school psychology programs and has worked diligently to incorporate behavior analysis into her courses. Prior to her time at Northeastern University, Dr. Davis served as an adjunct professor at Simmons College where she taught a number of courses to graduate students, in addition to providing supervision. Although Dr. Davis originally started teaching in traditional on -campus classes, the majority of her recent teaching has been online. This has allowed Dr. Davis to explore methods for transitioning the core features of effective instruction to online teaching. Her recent interests also include an evaluation of evidenced-based instructional methods for online teaching, and the application of behavior analytic technologies into online instruction.
Dr. Davis earned both her master’s and doctoral degrees in Behavior Analysis at Simmons College. Although she is committed to promoting the application of behavior analysis in all areas of human and animal behavior, Dr. Davis has presented nationally and published on behavior analytic approaches to health-related behavior, avoidance, and learning in higher education.

Dr. Laura Dudley
PhD, BCBA-D, LABA , Associate Clinical Professor, Northeastern University
Laura Dudley serves as Associate Clinical Professor and Program Director for the Applied Behavior Analysis programs at Northeastern University. She is a doctoral-level board-certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D) and licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) who earned her MS in Applied Behavior Analysis at Northeastern University and her PhD at Simmons College. Dr. Dudley has more than 20 years of clinical experience and 10 years of higher education teaching experience. She co-created the Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia, an online curriculum for individuals with autism that currently serves thousands of children with autism around the globe. Dr. Dudley is also a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200) and meditation instructor who leads teaches mindfulness courses at Northeastern, with a combined focus on the science and spirituality of mindfulness and meditation. Dr. Dudley speaks locally and nationally on topics focusing on human behavior, mindfulness and compassion.

Zoe Cohen
MS
Zoë Cohen's twenty years in marketing and communications has spanned the decline of MySpace to the rise of TikTok, and everything in between. With a focus on working with disrupters, doers, and dreamers, Zoë has worked with some of the most innovative people in the worlds of higher education, not for profits, and corporations. Currently, the founder of Everbrightly, Zoë also teaches graduate level courses focusing on digital marketing and tools for Northeastern University.

Sabine Amend
MA
Sabine Amend is an international communication specialist, whose experiences include communication and collaboration processes with people from more than 60 countries. A large part of her career has been entrepreneurial, including the ownership of a boutique consultancy in the U.S. Prior to joining the faculty at Northeastern University, she taught international marketing management and intercultural communication at an online MBA program in Colorado for ten years. Her interests are in communication, change-processes, leadership and the development of practical wisdom as an embodied process. At Northeastern, she fosters inquiry, analytical and reflective thinking within a broader goal of developing individuals who apply their academic work to practice, and who continue to mature as self-directed learners throughout their lives.

Dr. Janet Rico
PhD, MSN, MBA, NP-BC
Dr. Janet Rico is the Assistant Dean for Nursing Graduate Programs as well as a faculty member at Northeastern University’s Bouve College of Health Sciences. She is board-certified with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Dr. Rico earned her MSN in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her MBA with a specialization in Healthcare from Boston University, and her PhD in Law and Public Policy from Northeastern University. Her research interests include long-term support and healthcare access for disabled and elderly people, long-term care policy, healthcare disparities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, entrepreneurship in nursing, and transitions for youth with special healthcare needs.
