The UK Government is reviewing the qualification choices available to young people and adults from 16 years. They want to know what options need to be available to 16-19-year-olds in the future along with:
- A levels, which primarily prepare learners for higher education.
- T Levels, which primarily prepare learners for skilled employment in a specific occupation and can also be used to progress to higher technical study. T Levels include a Technical qualification, a 45-day industry work placement, and Level 2 English and maths.
Young learners, adults, parents, teachers, tutors and employers tell us that choice needs to include BTEC because it is a career-focused qualification that gives young people and adults the knowledge and skills they need for careers within industry, further study, higher education or an apprenticeship.
