Guida verificata passo dopo passo1
Understand that mitosis is a type of cell division that results in two daughter cells each having the same number of chromosomes as the parent cell.
Recall that human cells are diploid, meaning they have two sets of chromosomes, totaling 46 chromosomes.
During mitosis, the parent cell duplicates its chromosomes, resulting in 92 chromatids, but these are divided equally between the two daughter cells.
Each daughter cell receives one complete set of chromosomes, which is 46 chromosomes, identical to the original parent cell.
Therefore, after mitosis, each of the newly formed cells has 46 chromosomes, maintaining the diploid state.
