Guida verificata passo dopo passo1
Understand the process of Meiosis I, which consists of several stages: Prophase I, Metaphase I, Anaphase I, and Telophase I.
Recall that homologous chromosomes are pairs of chromosomes, one from each parent, that are similar in shape, size, and genetic content.
In Prophase I, homologous chromosomes pair up and exchange genetic material through a process called crossing over.
During Metaphase I, these homologous pairs align at the metaphase plate, which is the center of the cell.
In Anaphase I, homologous chromosomes are pulled apart to opposite poles of the cell, which is the stage where they separate from each other.
