Guida verificata passo dopo passo1
Understand the process of meiosis in gamete formation, which produces haploid cells from diploid precursor cells.
Recognize that in females, meiosis results in the formation of one large functional gamete and smaller cells called polar bodies.
Identify that the large functional gamete produced by female meiosis is called the 'ovum,' which is the mature egg cell.
Note that the 'zygote' is the cell formed after fertilization, not a gamete.
Recall that 'spermatid' refers to an immature male gamete precursor, not related to the female egg cell.
