Guida verificata passo dopo passo1
Identify the types of chemical bonds: Ionic, Covalent (Polar and Nonpolar), and Metallic.
Understand that in an ionic bond, electrons are transferred from one atom to another, resulting in the formation of ions.
Recognize that in a polar covalent bond, electrons are shared unequally between atoms due to differences in electronegativity.
Learn that in a nonpolar covalent bond, electrons are shared equally between atoms because the atoms have similar or identical electronegativities.
Note that in a metallic bond, electrons are delocalized and shared among a lattice of metal atoms, allowing them to move freely.
