Guida verificata passo dopo passo1
Identify the ions present in the compound LiOH. Lithium (Li) is a metal that forms a cation with a +1 charge, written as Li\^{+}.
Determine the anion in the compound. OH is the hydroxide ion, which carries a -1 charge, written as OH\^{-}.
Combine the cation and anion names. The cation name is 'lithium' and the anion name is 'hydroxide'.
Since the compound consists of lithium cations and hydroxide anions, the correct name is formed by naming the cation first followed by the anion.
Therefore, the correct name for LiOH is 'lithium hydroxide'.
