Recognize that metals are typically found on the left and center of the periodic table and include groups such as alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transition metals, and others.
Note that non-metals are located on the right side of the periodic table (excluding the noble gases) and have different properties such as poor conductivity and higher electronegativity.
