Understand the difference between intensive and extensive properties: Intensive properties do not depend on the amount of substance, while extensive properties do depend on the amount.
Recall that density is defined as mass divided by volume, \(\rho = \frac{m}{V}\).
Since both mass and volume are extensive properties, but their ratio (density) remains constant regardless of the sample size, density does not change when the amount of substance changes.
