Which of the following is NOT a function of neuroglia?
A
Protecting neurons.
B
Supplying nutrients to neurons.
C
Regulating the composition of interstitial fluid.
D
Conducting electrical impulses.
검증된 단계별 안내1
Understand the role of neuroglia: Neuroglia, also known as glial cells, are non-neuronal cells in the nervous system that provide support and protection for neurons. They do not conduct electrical impulses.
Identify the functions of neuroglia: Neuroglia have several functions including protecting neurons, supplying nutrients to neurons, and regulating the composition of interstitial fluid.
Recognize the function that is not associated with neuroglia: Conducting electrical impulses is a function of neurons, not neuroglia. Neurons are specialized for transmitting electrical signals throughout the nervous system.
Differentiate between neurons and neuroglia: Neurons are the primary cells responsible for communication in the nervous system through electrical impulses, while neuroglia support and maintain the environment around neurons.
Conclude the analysis: Based on the understanding of neuroglia functions, conducting electrical impulses is not a function of neuroglia, as this is the role of neurons.
