  • What is Anatomy?

Anatomy is the study of the structure of living organisms, including both internal and external structures and how they relate to one another.

  • What does Gross Anatomy study?

Gross Anatomy studies large body structures visible to the naked eye, such as the heart, skull bones, foot and organs

  • What is Systemic Anatomy?

Systemic Anatomy studies entire systems working together to perform specific functions, like the cardiovascular or respiratory systems.

  • What is Microscopic Anatomy and its subfields?

Microscopic Anatomy studies structures too small to see with the naked eye, including cytology (cells) and histology (tissues).

  • What is the Chemical Level of structural organization?

The Chemical Level is the most basic level where atoms combine to form molecules, such as water (H2O).

  • What defines the Cellular Level?

The Cellular Level consists of individual cells, the smallest units of life and basic units of structure and function.

  • What is the Tissue Level?

The Tissue Level is groups of similar cells working together to perform a common function, including epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous tissues.

  • What characterizes the Organ Level?

The Organ Level consists of organs made of two or more tissue types working together, like the bladder with muscle, nervous, epithelial, and connective tissues.

  • What is the Organ System Level?

The Organ System Level is a group of related organs working together to perform a common function, such as the circulatory system.

  • What is the Organism Level?

The Organism Level is the highest level where all organ systems function together to form a living human being.

  • Example of Gross Anatomy structures

Examples include the heart, skull bones, and foot, which are large structures visible without a microscope.

  • Example of Systemic Anatomy

The cardiovascular system includes the heart, arteries, and veins working together to circulate blood.

  • Four main tissue types in the body

The four main tissue types are epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous tissue.

  • Role of smooth muscle in the bladder

Smooth muscle in the bladder allows expansion to hold urine.

  • Role of nervous tissue in the bladder

Nervous tissue controls urination by signaling muscle contraction and relaxation.

  • Role of connective tissue in the bladder

Connective tissue reinforces the walls of the bladder, providing structural support.

  • Atoms combine to form what?

Atoms combine to form molecules, the chemical building blocks of life.

  • What is cytology?

Cytology is the study of individual cells.

  • What is histology?

Histology is the study of tissues, groups of similar cells performing a function.

  • Why is the cellular level important?

Cells are the smallest units of life and the basic units of structure and function in organisms.

  • What are the 3 subgroups for anotomy?

    1- Gross anatomy

    2- Systemic anatomy

    3- Microscopic anatomy
