Mitosis and meiosis differences
이 집합의 용어 (12)
Prophase
Chromosomes condense; nuclear envelope breaks down; spindle fibers form. No pairing of homologs
Prophase 1
Prophase I: Homologous chromosomes pair up (synapsis) and perform crossing over (exchanging DNA segments).
Prophase 2
Prophase II: Chromosomes re-condense in the two new haploid cells. No crossing over.
Metaphase
Chromosomes align on metaphase plate in single file line
Metaphase 1
Tetrads (pairs of homologous chromosomes) align side by side on metaphase plate
Metaphase 2
Chromosomes align on metaphase plate in single file line
Anaphase
sister chromatids are pulled apart toward opposite poles by spindle fibers
Anaphase 1
homologous chromosomes are separated.
anaphase 2
Sister chromatids are pulled apart
telophase & cytokinesis
Nuclear envelope reforms ,cytoplasm splits, yields 2 identical diploid daughter cells (2n)
telophase 1 & cytokineses
Nuclei reform, cytoplasm splits, yield 2 genetically diverse haploid cells
telophase 2 & cytokineses
Nuclei reform, cytoplasm splits, yields 4 genetically diverse haploid gamete cells
