Which stage of meiosis is most similar to mitosis in terms of the way sister chromatids separate?
A
Prophase I
B
Meiosis I
C
Meiosis II
D
Interkinesis
검증된 단계별 안내1
Recall that mitosis involves the separation of sister chromatids during anaphase, where each chromatid is pulled to opposite poles of the cell.
Understand that meiosis consists of two divisions: Meiosis I and Meiosis II. In Meiosis I, homologous chromosomes separate, not sister chromatids.
Recognize that in Meiosis II, the process resembles mitosis because sister chromatids separate during anaphase II, similar to mitotic anaphase.
Compare the stages: Prophase I involves pairing and crossing over of homologous chromosomes, which is unique to meiosis and not like mitosis.
Interkinesis is a resting phase between Meiosis I and II and does not involve chromatid separation, so it is not similar to mitosis in this context.
