하이드의 정의
Gibbs Free Energy
A thermodynamic quantity used to predict the spontaneity of a reaction, calculated as enthalpy minus temperature times entropy.
Spontaneous Reaction
A process that occurs without external energy input, indicated by a negative Gibbs Free Energy.
Non-Spontaneous Reaction
A process requiring external energy input, indicated by a positive Gibbs Free Energy.
Equilibrium
A state where the forward and reverse reactions occur at equal rates, resulting in no net change in the system.
Enthalpy
A measure of the total heat content in a system, often denoted as delta H.
Entropy
A measure of the disorder or randomness in a system, often denoted as delta S.
Standard Conditions
A set of conditions for thermodynamic measurements: 1 atm pressure and 25°C temperature.
Reaction Quotient
A ratio of product concentrations to reactant concentrations, used to determine reaction direction.
Gas Constant
A constant used in thermodynamic equations, typically 8.314 J/(mol·K).
Temperature
A measure of the average kinetic energy of particles in a system, affecting reaction spontaneity.
Delta G0
Gibbs Free Energy change under standard conditions.
Delta G
Gibbs Free Energy change under non-standard conditions.
Delta H
Change in enthalpy during a reaction, indicating heat absorbed or released.
Delta S
Change in entropy during a reaction, indicating change in disorder.
High Temperature
A condition favoring spontaneity when both enthalpy and entropy changes are positive.
