  • Cephalic region

    The head area including frontal, orbital, nasal, buccal, oral, and mental parts.

  • Cervical region

    The neck area connecting the head to the thorax.

  • Thoracic region

    The chest area including sternal, axillary, and pectoral parts.

  • Abdominal region

    The abdomen area centered around the umbilical region.

  • Pelvic region

    The groin area, also called the inguinal region.

  • Pubic region

    The genital area located below the pelvic region.

  • Upper limb regions

    Includes acromial (shoulder), deltoid, brachial (arm), antecubital (front elbow), olecranal (back elbow), antebrachial (forearm), and carpal (wrist).

  • Manus region

    The hand area, specifically the digital (fingers) region.

  • Lower limb regions

  • Pedal region

    Includes scapular (shoulder blade), vertebral (spine), lumbar (lower back), sacral (between hips), and gluteal (buttocks).

  • Anterior/Ventral body surface

    The front or belly side of the body.

  • Posterior/Dorsal body surface

    The back side of the body.
