    Specialized junctions between cardiac muscle cells that allow coordinated contraction.

  • What are neurons?

    Highly specialized nerve cells that generate and conduct electrical impulses.

  • What is the cutaneous membrane?

    The skin; keratinized stratified squamous epithelium attached to dense irregular connective tissue; a dry membrane.
