  • Prokaryotes

  • Plasmids

    Small, circular DNA molecules in bacteria that replicate independently and often carry genes for antibiotic resistance or toxin production.

  • Semiconservative DNA Replication

    Each new DNA molecule consists of one original strand and one newly synthesized strand.

  • Central Dogma of Molecular Biology

    DNA is transcribed into RNA, which is translated into proteins.

    A cluster of genes under control of a single promoter and operator, regulated together; can be inducible or repressible.
