What qualification level do I need to purchase assessments?
text
Pearson measures are available at three qualification levels (A, B, and C) depending on clinical complexity. Level A measures can be purchased by educators and administrators. Level B requires a master's degree in a related field. Level C requires doctoral-level training in psychology or a closely related discipline. You will see the qualification level on each product page, and our team can help if you are unsure where you fall.
How does digital administration compare to paper?
text
Digital platforms like Q-interactive and Q-global use the same standardized procedures and normative data as paper administration. The psychometric properties are equivalent. What changes is logistics. Digital scoring reduces manual errors, automated basal and ceiling rules shorten administration time, and your data stays stored for longitudinal tracking.
What does a digital subscription cost compared to paper kits?
text
The Digital Assessment Library uses a subscription model that spreads cost across the year rather than concentrating it in large upfront kit purchases. For high-volume settings like school districts, the per-administration cost is often lower than paper, and you avoid surprise kit spend when caseloads spike. Contact a Pearson assessment specialist for pricing tailored to your setting.
Can I use Pearson measures for telepractice?
text
Yes. Q-interactive and Q-global both support remote administration, and Pearson offers telepractice-specific guidance for instruments where remote norms have been validated. Check the product page for each measure's telepractice eligibility, or contact our team for guidance on your specific use case.
How often are norms updated?
text
Norm updates follow a rigorous re-standardization process tied to each instrument's revision cycle. Major batteries (WAIS, WISC, WIAT, CELF, BASC) are revised on approximately 10–15 year cycles, with interim updates when clinical criteria or population demographics shift materially. You always have access to the most current norms available through your digital platform.
Do Pearson measures provide a clinical conclusion on their own?
text
No. Pearson measures provide information that contributes to clinical decisions. They do not replace professional judgment. You integrate results with observation, history, and other data sources before drawing conclusions or making recommendations.
Choosing instruments that serve your clients
Every practice is different, and so are the individuals you serve. These considerations help you identify the measures and platforms that fit your setting, your caseload, and the people counting on your findings, whether you work independently or lead a district-wide program.
theme-white-surface-neutral
Access
Qualification level
Measures are categorized at Levels A, B, and C. Your qualification level determines which instruments you can access and administer. Confirm yours before you browse so you can focus on the tools that are right for you.
Population
Age range & norms
Each instrument is normed for a specific age band. Matching the normative population to the individuals you serve (infant/toddler, school-age, adolescent, or adult) is one of the most important steps toward findings you can trust.
Format
Digital vs. paper administration
Digital platforms save time and reduce scoring errors, but not every instrument is available digitally yet. Check format availability before committing to a workflow so there are no surprises when it matters.
Professional development
CE accreditation & training
Professional development is part of the commitment you make to your clients. If you need CE credits, confirm that training for your chosen instruments is accredited by your professional body: APA, AOTA, ASHA, or NASP.
Compliance
IDEA Part C & Part B support
If you conduct evaluations under IDEA, verifying that your instruments align with Part B (ages 3–21) or Part C (birth–2) protects the individuals in your process and the integrity of your findings.
Integration
Platform compatibility
Q-global, Q-interactive, and the Digital Assessment Library serve different administration models and different practice needs. Clarify which fits the way you work, whether that's browser-based scoring, iPad-based 1:1 testing, or subscription library access, so your technology supports you rather than slows you down.
