  • Parietal bone

A paired cranial bone forming the superior and lateral sides of the skull.
  • Frontal bone

The bone forming the forehead and the upper part of the eye sockets.
  • Glabella

The smooth area between the eyebrows on the frontal bone.
  • Frontonasal suture

The joint between the frontal bone and the nasal bones.
  • Supraorbital foramen (notch)

An opening above the orbit in the frontal bone allowing passage of nerves and vessels.
  • Supraorbital margin

The upper rim of the eye socket formed by the frontal bone.
  • Sphenoid bone (greater wing)

A butterfly-shaped bone forming part of the base of the skull and the sides of the orbits.
  • Temporal bone

Bone located at the sides and base of the skull, housing structures of the ear.
  • Optic canal

A passage in the sphenoid bone through which the optic nerve passes.
  • Ethmoid bone

A light, spongy bone located between the eyes that forms part of the nasal cavity and the orbits.
  • Middle nasal concha

A thin, curved bony plate on the ethmoid bone that helps filter and humidify air.
  • Perpendicular plate

Part of the ethmoid bone forming the superior portion of the nasal septum.
  • Inferior nasal concha

A separate bone that forms part of the lateral walls of the nasal cavity.
  • Lacrimal bone

Small bone forming part of the medial wall of the orbit, near the tear ducts.
  • Zygomatic bone

The cheekbone, forming the prominence of the cheeks and part of the orbit.
  • Infraorbital foramen

An opening in the maxilla below the orbit for nerves and blood vessels.
  • Maxilla

The upper jaw bone that holds the upper teeth and forms part of the orbit and nasal cavity.
  • Vomer

A thin, flat bone forming the inferior part of the nasal septum.
  • Mandible

The lower jaw bone, the largest and strongest facial bone.
  • Mental foramen

An opening on the anterior surface of the mandible allowing passage of nerves and vessels.
  • Mandibular symphysis

The midline fusion point of the two halves of the mandible.
  • Sagittal suture

The fibrous joint between the two parietal bones of the skull.
