Tailored notes based on your materials, expanded with key definitions, examples, and context.

Course Overview

Introduction

This course provides a foundational understanding of human anatomy and physiology, focusing on the structure and function of cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems. It is designed for students pursuing studies in health-related fields and aims to develop a thorough knowledge of the anatomical features of the human body.

Course Structure

Topics Covered

  • Introduction to Anatomy: Basic terminology, anatomical position, and body planes.

  • Anatomy of the Cell: Cell structure, organelles, and cellular processes.

  • Tissues: Classification and functions of epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous tissues.

  • The Integumentary System: Skin structure, functions, and associated structures.

  • The Skeletal System: Bone structure, types, axial and appendicular divisions, and articulations.

  • The Muscular System: Axial and appendicular musculature, muscle tissue types, and functions.

  • The Nervous System: Neural tissue, spinal cord, brain, cranial nerves, and sensory pathways.

  • The Cardiovascular System: Heart anatomy, blood vessels, and circulation.

  • The Respiratory System: Structure and function of respiratory organs.

  • The Urinary System: Kidney structure, urine formation, and excretion.

  • The Digestive System: Organs of digestion, absorption, and metabolism.

  • The Reproductive System: Male and female reproductive anatomy and physiology.
