  • Centromeres

    Regions where sister chromatids are held together.

  • Kinetochore

    complex protein structure assembled on the centromere that anchors chromosomes to microtubules.

  • Mitosis

    Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase, Cytokinesis. One cell into two cells, all diploid. Genetically identical to parent cell.

  • Meiosis

    PMAT twice, first with homologous pairs, second with sister chromatids (identical to Mitosis PMAT) Goes from one diploid cell to four haploid cells at the end.
