Question 1

Which of the following best describes the principle of natural selection as proposed by Charles Darwin?

Accepted Answer

Individuals with advantageous traits survive longer and reproduce more, making those traits common over generations.

Question 2

A student quickly notices angry facial expressions in a crowd. According to evolutionary psychology, what is the most likely explanation for this ability?

Accepted Answer

Detecting threats quickly increased ancestral survival, so this ability evolved as an adaptation.
