Accepted Answer

Wavelength

Question 2

A patient is having trouble focusing on objects at different distances, especially as they age. Which structure in the eye is most likely responsible for this difficulty?

Accepted Answer

Lens

Question 3

Which of the following best describes the function of rods in the retina?

Accepted Answer

Detecting movement and dim light

Question 4

The trichromatic theory of color vision states that color perception is based on:

Accepted Answer

Three types of cones, each sensitive to a different range of wavelengths

Question 5

Which phenomenon is explained by the opponent process theory but not by the trichromatic theory?

Accepted Answer

Afterimages

Question 6

A person with deuteranopia is missing one type of cone. Based on the visible spectrum, which color are they least able to distinguish?

Accepted Answer

Green

Question 7

What is the correct order of structures that light passes through as it enters the eye?

Accepted Answer

Cornea → Lens → Retina

Question 8

Why do humans have a blind spot in their visual field?

Accepted Answer

It is where the optic nerve leaves the eye and there are no photoreceptors

Question 9

Which of the following best matches the wave property with the perceived property?

Accepted Answer

Amplitude: brightness

Question 10

Accepted Answer

Rods

Question 11

Which of the following equations correctly represents the relationship between wavelength ($$\lambda$$), frequency ($$f$$), and the speed of light ($$c) $$for visible light?

Accepted Answer

$$c = \lambda \cdot f$$

Trichromatic theory

Question 13

Which structure of the eye is responsible for controlling the amount of light that enters?

Accepted Answer

Iris

Question 14

Accepted Answer

Opponent process theory

Question 15

Which of the following is true about cones in the retina?

Accepted Answer

They are responsible for color vision and high visual acuity
