Accepted Answer

$$-55 \ \mathrm{mV}$$

Question 10

Which of the following is TRUE regarding the recruitment of motor units during a voluntary muscle contraction?

Both small and large motor units are recruited to generate sufficient force

Question 12

Which of the following best describes the function of extrafusal muscle fibers?

Accepted Answer

They generate the force required for movement

Question 13

Which of the following scenarios best illustrates the concept of neuronal integration?

Accepted Answer

Multiple excitatory and inhibitory inputs summing to determine if a neuron fires an action potential

Which of the following is TRUE about the distribution of muscle fibers within a single motor unit?

Accepted Answer

They are distributed throughout the muscle and mixed with fibers from other motor units

Question 19

Which of the following best describes the relationship between the size of a motor neuron and its conduction velocity?

Accepted Answer

Larger motor neurons have faster conduction velocities due to greater axon diameter
