Accepted Answer

Wavelength

Question 2

The amplitude of a light wave is most closely associated with which perceived property?

Accepted Answer

Brightness

Question 3

Which structure in the eye is responsible for changing shape to focus images at different distances, a process known as accommodation?

Accepted Answer

Lens

Question 4

As people age, they often require reading glasses due to a loss of accommodation. Which part of the eye is primarily affected?

Accepted Answer

Lens

Question 5

Which of the following best explains why humans have a blind spot in each eye?

Accepted Answer

It is where the optic nerve leaves the eye, so there are no photoreceptors.

Accepted Answer

Rods

Question 8

According to the trichromatic theory of color vision, how many types of cones are there, and what are they sensitive to?

Accepted Answer

Three types; each sensitive to a different range of wavelengths

Question 9

Which theory explains the phenomenon of afterimages, where you see the opposite color after staring at a color for a long time?

Accepted Answer

Opponent process theory

If a person has deuteranopia (a type of colorblindness), which cone is not functioning properly?

Accepted Answer

Green cone
