Introduction to Human Body Organization
The human body is a complex structure organized into several hierarchical levels, from the smallest cellular units to the entire organism. Understanding these levels and the major organ systems is fundamental to the study of anatomy and physiology.
Levels of Structural Organization
Cell: The basic structural and functional unit of life. Cells carry out all necessary life processes.

Major Organs and Their Functions

Lungs: Facilitate gas exchange (oxygen in, carbon dioxide out).
Trachea: Airway connecting larynx to bronchi; conducts air to lungs.
Esophagus: Muscular tube transporting food from mouth to stomach.
