Course Policies and Expectations

Attendance and Participation

  • Attendance is not mandatory but strongly encouraged for success.

  • Active participation in lectures, discussions, and assignments is expected.

Assignment and Exam Policies

  • Assignments and exams have strict due dates; late work is penalized unless prior arrangements are made.

  • Tutorials and homework: 5% penalty per day late, up to 50% maximum deduction.

  • Exams are proctored online using Honorlock; the final exam is in-person and on paper.

  • One-page, double-sided equation sheet allowed for in-semester exams (not for the final).

  • Scratch paper and non-communicating calculators are permitted during exams.

Academic Integrity

  • All work must be your own; cheating, plagiarism, and unauthorized use of AI tools are prohibited.

  • Permitted use of AI tools must be cited, and students are responsible for evaluating accuracy and bias.

  • Violations may result in a failing grade and disciplinary action.
